Statement of Faith

We Believe…

  • The Bible, in its original manuscripts, is the inspired and infallible Word of God and is our authority for all of life and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

  • There is one God, eternally existent in three Person: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, 26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-3)

  • In the deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miraculous ministry, His vicarious and atoning death, His physical resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father where He ever lives to make intercession, His personal future return to the earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years. (John 1:1-2; Philippians 2:6-8; Colossians 1:17; Luke 24:5-6; John 11:49-52; Hebrews 7:25; Romans 8:34; Luke 24:39; John14:1-3; Revelations 20)

  • In the sinfulness of all humanity and the need of salvation, available only through the blood of Jesus Christ (Romans 3:9-10, 23; 4:25-5:2; Titus 3:5; John 3:5; Acts 2:38, John 14:6)

  • In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the disciples or followers of Jesus Christ are enabled to live a holy life. (Galatians 5:22-23; John 14:17; Ephesians 4:30; 1 Peter 1:14-16)

  • In the finished work of Christ on the cross that provides healing for spirit, soul and body. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; 1 Peter 2:24; James 5:14-15)

  • In the baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is promised to all believers subsequent to salvation, as the entrance into a Spirit-filled life including a prayer language (speaking in tongues), gifts of the Holy Spirit, and power to be a witness of the Person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Joel 2:28-29; Luke 3:16; 11:13; Acts 1:4-5, 8; 2:4; 10:44-47; 19:1-6; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

  • In the sacraments of water baptism (using the trinitarian formula in the authority of the Lord Jesus) and the Lord’s supper given by our Lord Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19; Matthew 26:26-29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

  • In the blessed hope known as the rapture of the church at Christ’s coming in the clouds. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Titus 2:13)

  • In the physical resurrection of the saved and unsaved; the saved to everlasting life and the unsaved to everlasting damnation. (Daniel 12:2; 1 Corinthians 15:20-23, 42; Revelation 20:4-6, 11-15)

  • In the priesthood of believers and the responsibility to reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 2:5-9; Matthew 28:18-20)
